I don’t smoke, nor tend to start, but I was in a college discussion, smokers gain weight when they stop a fellow classmate stated, why?? Do they lose weight when they start??

When I found out I was pregnant with my daughter, I quit that day – no problem.
Now that I’m pregnant again – I’m having a harder time. Any suggestions?
I know it’s easy to say – just quit, think of the baby. I know, I know. Just asking for suggestions on how to make it easier.
Thanks in advance. And no thanks to the criticism in advance.

I heard if you are a heavy smoker (20 a day) and you just stop when you find out you are pregnant, it can be harm full to your baby? They say your body is under s lot of stress when you quit, and you pass that stress onto you baby. Is it better to stop gradually?

It will almost be a year since I quit smoking cigs. I quit cold turkey when I became pregnant. Obviously, I gained weight b/c of the pregnancy, but could it also be b/c I quit smoking? I don’t substitute food for nicotine. Is there a physiological reason as to why one gains weight or is it psychological?

I’ve been smoking for like less than 6 months. Maybe at the max, 3 or 4 a day. I smoke clove cigs. I love smoking but I know I should stop before it becomes a problem. I don’t feel physically addicted just mentally. I’m just wondering, from former smokers, when you quit smoking did you WANT to quit, or did you just know you SHOULD quit? Thanks.
