i want to quit smoking cus ive been smoking for a year and now im having trouble breathing. i tried nic gum but it doesnt work and is too expensive. what can i use to help?

I started on step 2 because i don’t smoke that much although I have been smoking for about 10 years. I feel awful. I couldn’t sleep and had tons of bad dreams. I am hot and shaky and nauseous. I have used the patch before but didn’t feel like this. Is this normal?
I’m using the Nicorette inhaler to quit smoking. I’ve been smoking for 17 years and today was my first day of quitting and I did really good.
My question is what kind of changes can I expect in my body and when, even though I am still taking in a small amount of nicotine? If anyone knows, that would be great.

Do you start to think clearer and get out of the little hazy-minded marijuana fog and all that? Is the newfound sobriety actually better or what? Who here has quit it after smoking everyday for a long time?
I’m taking this medicine, and I feel sick, cold, I can’t get a good night’s sleep, and i’m 3 days in. Any good success stories that will make me feel better about taking this? I really want to quit, I’ve smoked for 19 years, but this is hell.
