I want to help a 27 year old friend stop smoking marijuana. He says he wants to stop but it is hard for him. I try to encourage him to stop but I never know if I am being helpful. When I feel like he is acting strangely because he is high, I tell him. But is this just making him feel worse and therefore making him want to smoke? I would especially appreciate advice from someone who has quit smoking pot. What can I do (or not do) to help?
I cannot force him to go to re-hab since he is an adult; I’ve looked into it.

I believe this is something that an individual needs to do on his/her own but I want to see what others think. Can you MAKE someone quit smoking so you can possibly save their life?

My mom, 43, has been soming since she was 14, she has three kids 22,18,and 12, plus two grandchildren 2 years, and 4 months, she owns her own home, car, and has a great job
but she smokes like a chiminey, roughly a pack and a half a day. and she says she has never wanted to quit, i dont get it! she has a lot to live for, but she continues to smoke and brags about it, saying she will never quit. WHY?

I want to start jogging/running. I have recently quit smoking and anytime I try my lungs KILL! Any suggestions?

My husband has been smoking for many years and tried several ways to quit on his one, without any long term success. He has tried Nicoderm and some other over the counter stuff. Is there anything a doctor can prescribe that will help with the cravings, headaches,…?
