If you have not seen the ads yet, smoking is both addictive and deadly. It can lead to cancers and disfigurement. But, many adult smokers began this habit when they were teenagers. Help your teen to understand what they are in for if they begin to smoke.

You would like to count out all that your teen shouldn’t do and expect them to follow your lead. Unfortunately, they won’t understand that. Remember when you were a teenager? Many reasons exist why teenagers start smoking in the first place. Learning those reasons and trying to counteract them is your best way of getting through to your teen.

So, why do teenagers smoke? In the 60s and 70s it was the Marlboro Man ads. Smoking was synonymous with sex appeal and manliness. If you weren’t the Marlboro Man then you were a woman who wanted one.

Some kids these days still feel like smoking gives them that allure. Girls love a dangerous guy who lives on the fringes of society because he is different. Smoking makes him look cool and handsome at the same time. For girls, smoking is what the “bad girls” do. This is a draw for teens with low self-esteem who would like to boost their image somehow.

Smoking may also be effect of peer pressure. When your teen is with their friends and they smoke, they’ll ultimately provide a smoke to your teen. Too much ribbing and teasing can lead to your teen trying it “once.” Little do they know that nicotine is addictive and one cigarette turns into a pack a day habit.

Smoking makes teens feel “grown up.” When you are feeling a lack of attention at home or at school, smoking means they feel like they are important. They gain confidence from that cigarette in their mouth.

Most of these are reasons why your teen may take up smoking even after your lecture on why it is wrong for them. Now, let’s move on to the physical consequences. The most important is cancer.

Cancer is the word we don’t utter at the dinner table or in normal family conversation. If we ignore it, maybe it’ll go away. The cancers associated with smoking are lung cancer and throat cancer for a start. People who smoke are also likely to develop emphysema, COPD and other respiratory problems.

One of the most devastating situations is when someone you care about gets cancer from second-hand smoke. Their smoking has made you sick. It is always more of a deterrent to smoking when someone your teen knows has cancer or another disease that is directly associated with it.

And, teens do get sick from smoking. It isn’t just adults who suffer these effects. In the prime of their lives they don’t want to be permanently attached to an oxygen tank or have an operation to remove their tongue or voice box.

Smoking has both physical and social consequences. Your teen may be listening more to the social consequences of not smoking than the physical consequences of smoking.

Individuals are generally skeptical regarding the capacity of hypnotherapy to stop smoking. This is mainly hypnosis is never promoted like other quit smoking aids such as nicotine pads, gums, inhalers etc.

Individuals are generally skeptical regarding the capacity of hypnotherapy to stop smoking. This is mainly hypnosis is never promoted like other quit smoking aids such as nicotine pads, gums, inhalers etc.

To answer your question, does hypnosis work to stop smoking?

Indeed it does. And lots of people have applied hypnosis effectively to quit smoking forever.

Hypnosis is a rather unique technique which employs an extremely distinctive way in order to help in smoking cessation. It affects the sub conscious mind of the individual in order to instill a certain behavior in them. Just like smoking became a part of our life by repetitive behavior through the years. But, hypnosis is a process where a new behavior can be inculcated within the sub conscious without the long and strenuous task of not smoking for years.

Therefore by using hypnosis for you to quit smoking, this particular behavior, which is essentially that of a non-smoker is seated so deep in your brain that you’ll barely feel the need to smoke after a few sessions.

Hypnosis works by placing the patient in a peaceful state of mind. When in such a sub conscious state, the hypnotist speaks to the sub conscious mind and influence it into thinking that you have been a non-smoker all along.

This specific process may appear to be over ambitious to the people who have certainly not tried out hypnosis before. But it has been employed by many and is a medically tested process.

It has been determined that hypnosis is really a reliable procedure and never some Hollywood imagination. It is being used by the military, by the government, and even by top level researchers to learn human habits.

In the sub conscious state of mind, human beings are able to attain the actual portion of their mind that they can’t achieve while they are conscious. This really is what hypnotist carry out to make someone quit smoking.

Not only in smoking cessation, hypnosis has been used by hundreds of thousands to aid them in many other difficulties of their lives. For example, weight loss, anxiety, self – confidence, procrastination etc.

In case you are still skeptical about hypnosis, then I would recommend you just give it a try. It doesn’t cost much to get a hypnosis tape from the internet. It will only take a few minutes of your time and you can feel the effect instantly.

You will never quit smoking unless you take action. Using hypnosis to quit smoking is taking action to achieve what you want.

Hypnosis Network has been in the field of quit smoking for a long time and maintains a website about quit smoking where you can get answers to the rest of your questions.

You can quit smoking infinitely if you put your trust in God to help you be successful. Most people try to quit smoking through other means like pills, hypnosis, patch, or psychiatry without much success. These people do not recognize that the best way to quit smoking is through faith in the Lord. Through trusting God, you can break this habit for good and at no cost to you.

Consider how many people you have met who have quit smoking, and the different techniques that they used. How long did they stay non-smokers? Which techniques brought back the highest success rate of permanent non-smokers?

You will find that most of the people who quit smoking using faith never turn back. They stay non-smokers forever. People who use other means for quitting smoking may be successful for a year or two, but mostly turn back to smoking again.

Why is it that people who use the power of the Lord are more successful in kicking this nasty habit? Is it because they have more will power than those who use other techniques? I think not. Most likely, it is because faith is a powerful tool. Through faith, people are able to do amazing things.

So, how do you use faith in God to help you quit smoking? The first thing you need to do is pray. Pray to God and ask for his help. Give your addiction completely over to God and know he will help you every step of the way. Have complete faith that God helps those who turn to him in their time of need.

At this point, it is important that you do not loose faith in God no matter what problems may arise. Stand strong knowing that the Lord will not give up on you. Remember complete trust is important for your success. God will know your faith and use it to help you conquer this habit.

Lastly, when you become a non-smoker, testify to other people on how you were so successful kicking this habit. Show them how using faith in God is the best way to quit smoking.

Smoking makes you feel better because you are addicted, that it tricks you into feeling less stress and helps them to function better in their daily lives. But, what they do not realize is that among the myriad of health related problems associated with smoking, and increased heart rate is one of them which can result in a individual feeling even more tension, which in turn sends them running outside for yet another cigarette, carrying on a wicked cycle. Lots of people are looking for the easy way to quit smoking or else they are not going to bother to try, but the bottom line is smoking cigarettes causes addiction, and easy may not be the best way to describe the give up smoking process.

If you are having a hard time quitting smoking then it may be time for you to look at the big picture where smoking is concerned. Smoking is cancer causing, and people still take the chance with getting lung cancer. Here is the problem, however, lung cancer has a very low survival rate, the reason for this is because symptoms do not present themselves until the disease has spread throughout the lungs and the body, and then it’s too late.

1. Ask why you are smoking. Do you smoke when you feel stressed? Do you need to feel better that way? Identify the situation when you crave for a cigarette and avoid it when the urge to smoke arises. If you have the habit of smoking at certain places, don’t go near there, especially drinking places.

2. Go cold turkey. This takes a lot of self-control as you are going to stop your nicotine addiction immediately. The success rate is very low because the urge to smoke is too great. However, if you can stick with it, it is very powerful for quitting.

3. Exercise. It will help you to quit and get in better shape too. Exercise helps your body to perspire and in the process, flush out those toxins that have accumulated in your body over the years.

4. Using Nicotine Replacement Therapy. You may have seen things like gum, inhalers, even water on the market. These products contain nicotine and act as cigarette alternatives. The good thing about using nicotine replacement therapy is that you can slowly reduce the nicotine dosage until you no longer need it. However, this prolongs your nicotine dependency and you might increase the dosage, or turn back to cigarettes.

Whatever ways to quit smoking you try, you should remember that the first couple of weeks will be the hardest. Your body is going to experience physical cravings for the chemicals and pollutants contained in cigarettes. Nicotine interacts with your body’s chemistry and secretes blood sugars. If the nicotine has been removed, the blood sugars fall, which gives you the craving for things that are sweet. So do yourself a favor and keep your blood sugar regulated with healthy foods not candy. Trying a diet of low GI food when you quit smoking will help you to master your cravings.

There are many ways to cease smoking. If you think you are that determined to quit smoking now, then read on! You do not have to smoke. I know, quitting can be difficult. But here are a few ways to quit smoking that might make things easier for you.

There are many ways to cease smoking. If you think you are that determined to quit smoking now, then read on! You do not have to smoke. I know, quitting can be difficult. But here are a few ways to quit smoking that might make things easier for you.

People will also find you good to be with, as some are scared of inhaling smokes and actually being a second hand smoker. And being in informal situations can be good again. You can get to being around individuals again, who don’t smoke.

There is a way for an individual to be able to get rid of this negative habit, and that is by slowly stopping it. This method proves to be effective, as opposed to going cold turkey. When you start this method and do it on a regular basis, it actually does not matter whether you are used to smoking more than one pack a day. But when you actually take a cigarette away every day, you will be astonished at how suddenly the urge to smoke more is no longer there.

This is a great way to allow your body to kick the habit. If you are finding this very difficult, you can try to do a few every other day. As long as you feel comfortable in doing the stopping part, then do it.

Consider the strength of your will power with quitting. Yes! You are reading this one right. Using your will power to just smoke a half cigarette can be very helpful. This will actually help you build confidence that indeed, stopping is doable for you. Those that are serious will cease while those that have a weak mind, may relapse. You can actually do this with my first suggestion.

Maybe you should think about hanging out with people that don’t smoke. Your family (most especially your kids), your anti-smoking friends or neighbors, and the list go on and on. In doing this step, you are consciously forced to stop smoking. You can also avoid going to places where they actually allow you to smoke. This can help you keep your mind of off smoking.

A lot of people ask how to quit smoking on a frequent basis as they are on the lookout for the greatest ways to give up. In the eyes of a lot of ex-smokers, going cold turkey is not an perfect method to consider because of its low success rates. This report looks at how you can give up cigarettes gradually by using nicotine in your stop smoking program.

As important it is to acknowledge that withdrawal symptoms can be absolutely horrid, they are all for your benefit as the illnesses that can arise from continuing with your smoking habit could be much worse. One of the principle withdrawal symptoms is anger and anxiety, which those who are around you constantly will begin to recognise as giving up provides you with a lack of patience.

If that wasn’t enough for you to contend with, practically every cell in your body will make a conscientious effort to regain the nicotine that it was once dependent on back. It is your willpower which is essential for pulling you through as you contend with the stress imposed on your body through the host of symptoms that you will experience.

Leading the way with helping those who have given up smoking to get their nicotine fix, patches allow nicotine to go directly into the blood to satisfy any cravings that may dominate the user throughout the day. Even though the patches could be costly (but nowhere near as costly as cigarettes), there are specific instructions in place that need to be followed so skin complaints can be prevented.

If this method doesn’t appeal to you, there are other methods that can be considered. As a few people like their mouths to be involved in the smoking process, the body can find the lack of a cigarette to drag on quite difficult. Nicotine gum has become a popular option for people who want nicotine to be absorbed into the bloodstream via the lining of the mouth.

Should you have an occupation where concentration is one of the most essential elements of your job, it would not be unusual for your work to be compromised for a short while after you have given up. This is due to your mind being polluted with sub-conscious thoughts of cigarettes and your conscious thoughts of willpower trying to overpower them.

Recently, attention has turned to a new development for people who are trying to find an undisruptive way to quit smoking. As a lot of people crave the hand-to-mouth knowledge when they quit smoking and end up fidgeting, inhalators are now options for those who like the sensation of smoking and who wish to wean themselves off nicotine slowly.

When you quit smoking a cigarette for the last time, it is better to know all of these implications beforehand than to learn them later. If you are bearing in mind choosing a date to give up in the near future, be sure to ensure that you are in the know.

If you’re ready to stop smoking, there are things you should do to mentally prepare yourself for this life-changing event. Here are several tips to help you through this journey.

You’ll want to make a list of all the benefits you’ll gain when you stop smoking. For example: feel healthier, save money, live longer, find a mate, smell better, etc. Read this list every day.

Settle on a specific day to stop smoking and mark that day on your calendar.

It will be easier to stop smoking if you have the advice of a physician to guide you, so make an appointment with your doctor before the date you’ve chosen to quit.

Let your friends and family know that you are going to stop smoking and let them know when you’re going to do it. Make sure they support your decision and ask them not to be judgmental. You may be irritable and irrational as you experience withdrawal symptoms — warn your friends and family. There is a program that can significantly decrease your irritability and other symptoms. It’s called Quit Smoking Today and you’ll find a link in the resources section at the bottom of this article.

Join a gym or start a fitness program such as walking, biking, or any physical activity that interests you. Exercise will help your body recover from the damage of years of cigarette smoking, and it will help you relieve stress as you proceed through withdrawal.

Try meditation or at the very least, practice some deep breathing for about 3 to 5 minutes daily. Inhale slowly through your nose and hold for a few seconds then exhale slowly through your mouth. This will also help relieve your stress.

Make an appointment with your dentist to get your teeth cleaned. Your sense of taste and smell will show improvement 2 days after your last cigarette. Having your teeth cleaned will make your mouth taste even sweeter.

Drinking plenty of water will help flush the nicotine and other smoking chemicals out of your body, and it’ll give you something to do with your hands and mouth. Most people don’t get enough water anyway, and it’s good for you!

Inevitably, there are going to be places and situations that trigger your desire to smoke. It may be that your need to light up is strongest after a meal, or if you go into a bar, or while you’re driving, etc. If you’re not able to avoid these places or situations, then you’ll need to find something to hold in your hand and place in your mouth to distract you. Artificial cigarettes are available for this purpose.

Remind yourself of times in the past when you’ve achieved something difficult. Believe in yourself and believe you can stop smoking.

Break Your Smoking Habit, For Good! Then, when you are smoking free, Clear Your Lungs Of Tar And Toxins From Years Of Smoking. Research reveals that there Is a Tested and Proven Program You follow. It Is Also An Extremely Effective Way To Stop Smoking As It Quickly Gets Rid Of Cravings!

Top Five Methods to Quit Smoking Cigarettes–Traditional and Non-Traditional

Smoking cigarettes puts you at a greater risk for heart and lung diseases. It becomes all the more hurtful when it also adversely affects the health of the people around you, especially family and loved ones.

Unfortunately, smoking is addictive and many people who smoke their first cigarette get hooked for a lifetime. It is not impossible to quit smoking cigarettes, however. You can effectively quit smoking with the help of these five methods.

Self-Discipline

The sincerity to stop smoking is a determining factor in anyone’s fight over cigarette addiction. In order to stop smoking cigarettes, you must first want to stop smoking.

To kick off your smoking cessation campaign, set a date when you intend to quit smoking for good. Get rid of all cigarettes, lighters, ashtrays and other objects that remind you of smoking. Most of all, steer clear of people who smoke since they can break your resolve.

Sometimes self-discipline alone is not enough to control the craving to smoke. It is best to combine this method with the other four methods: medications, hypnotherapy, acupuncture and counseling.

Medications

You can help fight off the urge to smoke with nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) and prescription medications.

NRT supplies your body with the nicotine that you get from cigarettes. It allows you to reduce the amount of nicotine that you take in day by day, until your body stops depending on the substance.

NRT medications can be bought over the counter at your local drugstore. They are available as skin patches, chewing gum, inhalers, or lozenges.

In some instances, physicians will recommend that you take bupropion pills or varenicline tartrate pills together with NRT. These prescription medications help contain your cigarette cravings without supplying your body with nicotine.

Hypnotherapy

Through hypnotherapy, you can program your subconscious mind to remove the desire to smoke. Talk to a professional hypnotherapist to know if this method is right for you. The hypnotherapist can help you explore your inner self by bringing you into a deep, relaxing trance.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture can also help you cut down on the number of cigarettes that you smoke daily until you are finally able to stop. The treatment is done by inserting needles at certain pressure points on your ears, wrists and hands. If skillfully administered, the treatment is painless. Many ex-smokers find acupuncture very effective in reducing smoking withdrawal symptoms.

Support & Counseling

To boost your resolve to quit smoking, join a support group or get professional counseling. You can also seek support from your family and friends. Quitting is hard but with the help and support of concerned people, you can find the strength to break the habit.

Never give up if your plan to quit smoking cigarettes fails. Quitting gets easier with every attempt! Many reformed smokers do not stop smoking with their first try. A lot try to quit over half a dozen times before finally succeeding. With persistence, you can achieve your goal to be a nonsmoker.
