If he doesn’t quit smoking when you have a baby, you’ll have much more to worry about than fertility. He needs to stop as soon as possible. I know that you already know all of this, but it sounds like he’s really putting it off, and might need some outside professional help to get through this. You don’t want to be dealing with pregnancy issues and his nicotine withdrawal symptoms at the same time, honey!
Yes, smoking and drinking can affect fertility and ***** motility, so you’re right, he needs to consider this too. Good luck!
ps: smoking and second-hand smoke can affect a baby ‘in utero’. I was born into a heavy smoking family and was born 4 weeks early and under 4lb in weight. I sat in an incubator for the first week of life. Please consider if this is how you want to see your baby for the first 7 days, without holding it and bonding. I know, it’s a bit of a horror story, but these forums are designed for honesty
I’m physically fine, healthy, athletic and … a non smoker (no surprises there!)

My husband isnt a person that smokes everyday , but does once in awhile……. and so far he hasnt smoked or drinked hopin this is our month because we’ve hav tried hard. Tell your husband to stop smoking for you and his health , and more because you guys are ttc , and just to try all his best.
good luck!

i dont know what to tell you. smoking does ***** up ovulation in a woman and can lower the ***** count in men. my husband has smoked for 6 years and i am now pregnant. we hadnt been trying but it happened.

I know of many smokers that have kids, such as my dad and my husbands dad….we are both in out mid 20′s and both of our fathers smoked before we were even thought of….so if it worked back then, his smoking should not hinder your conceiving chances.

I feel your pain, my husband is a smoker, but it hasn’t affected his fertility (he has a 2 year old son we are raising and him and his ex weren’t even trying) or his mom’s (she has four kids, although I do believe it caused some problems in her 4th child). I don’t smoke and only let my husband smoke outside, I hardly notice when he does until I smell it, then I make him wash his clothes and take a shower lol. I don’t smoke, but I’ve heard it is bad when TTC. Make him quit, just to be safe.
