Yup, nicotene takes about three days to get out of your blood. However, depending on how long you have smoked, it may take several years before your body is totaly clean again. My mother in law has not smoked for 3 years now, but sometimes she still coughes up disgusting brown stuff... Hang in there!!!

If you really want help quitting smoking. Go to your doctor and ask for the perscription "CHANTIX". This is the best quit-smoking drug I have seen. I know two people VERY personally who smoked for more than 25 years and both have quit VERY successfully. Both these women have tried for 3 years and have failed every time. With Chantix they have had SUPER results.
Check it out.

That's what I heard also. 3 days in your system, and a life time in your mind.

Hi, I took an AMA quit smoking class and they told us the nicotine is completely out of the body in three days. The feelings of withdrawal, however, will last much longer. They told us that every time you feel that strong urge for a cigarette, tell yourself, "This feeling will pass whether I have a cigarette or not, so I won't have one." It really helps. And yes, drink lots of water as it keeps you hydrated, flushes your system of impurities and makes you feel better. Keep your mind busy and change your daily routine also helps. Kudos to you for quitting and Good Luck!

I know that standard nicotine drug tests can detect usage of tobacco for up to 30 days. The test is used to determine if someone is a tobacco user or not to qualify for non-tobacco user insurance rates (lower).
